"Ryan Quinn Now Faces Ricardo Funch:
2-time Bellator fighter Dennis Olson has been forced to pull out of his December bout with fellow Bellator vet Ryan Quinn. The fight was set to take place in Amherst, Massachusetts at the Premier Fighting Championship 7. In his place Promoter Karyn Wesch has pulled in a bigger name and made a blockbuster bout.
Wesch announced today that UFC vet Ricardo “Golden Boy” Funch will step in to replace Olson. This will be the 7-2 Funch’s first fight since his 2-fight stint in the UFC. The clash between the two New Englander makes for a “Premier” fight-of-the-year candidate. The 6-2 Quinn is unbeaten in his last 4 fights, is 3-0 fighting for Bellator, and is coming off an August Bellator win over Brett Oteri. Funch won 7 in a row, including over high ranked Woody Weatherby and Chandler Holderness before losing via decision in the UFC to (11-1) Johny Hendricks and then via 2nd round submission to (14-1) Claude Patrick at UFC 115. The winner of this bout could be considered the top 170lb’er in region.
Also add to the card is a showdown between 10-6 Rich Moskowitz and the 13-6-1 Abner “Skullman” Lloveras. Moskowitz is a longtime New England MMA mainstay, with his only recent losses to contenders successful in next-level promotions, including the UFC’s Anthony Johnson in a bout that went to the judges. Lloveras is a longtime veteran of M1 (4-2) and is coming off a May win over Ralph Johnson on the undercard of PVP: Severn vs. Beane. He is 8-2 in his last 10, dating back to 2009."
